The Signs of Angels For a Wife Who Refuse to Invite Her Husband to Jima'

The Signs of Angels For a Wife Who Refuse to Invite Her Husband to Jima'And among the people who were cursed by the Angels is a wife who refused her husband's invitation to jima'. Among the arguments that show this are:

First: Ash-Syaikhain narrated from Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu anhu from the Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa salam, he said:

إِذَا دَعَا الرَّجُلُ امْرَأَتَهُ إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ فَأَبَتْ أَنْ تَجِيْءَ لَعَنَتْهَا الْمَلاَئِكَةُ حَتَّى تُصْبِحَ

"If a husband takes his wife to his bed {1}, but she does not obey him, then the Angels will curse him until morning." {2}

Second: Ash-Syaikhani narrated from Abu Hurairah also Radhiyallahu anhu, he said, the Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa salam said:

إِذَا بَاتَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ هَاجِرَةً فِرَاشَ زَوْجِهَا لَعَنَتْهَا الْمَلاَئِكَةُ حَتَّى تُصْبِحَ

"If a woman sleeps by leaving her husband's bed, the Angels curse it until morning." {3}

And in another history:

حَتَّى تَرْجِعَ

"So that the wife returns." {4}

Al-Imam an-Nawawi rahimahullah in explaining this hadith said, "This is a proposition that shows haram for a wife to reject her husband's invitation to the bed (for ijma') if there is no valid reason, and menstruation is no reason to reject , because the husband in this condition can make it (enjoy it) with something above the bottom cloth of the body." {5}

Among the rules contained in these two hadiths are:
  1. Indeed the curse - as explained by Imam an-Nawawi - lasted until the disobedience disappeared with the dawn of rising and the feeling of not needing from the husband's side, or with repentance and the return of his wife by fulfilling the husband's wishes. {6}
  2. Al-Imam Abu Hamzah revealed another principle of this hadith, he rahimahullah said, "In it there is a proposition that the prayer of the Angel, which is good or bad is a prayer received, because in the hadith the Rasullullah Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa salam threatens this." {7}
There are other hadiths that show this attitude, including:

First: Al-Imam Ath-Thabrani narrated from Jabir bin ‘Abdillah Radhiyallahu anhu, he said," The Rasullullah sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa salam said:

"There are three people whose prayers will not be accepted, and their kindness will not rise to Allah, (1) a person who is drunk so that he is aware, (2) a woman who is hated by her husband, and (3) a slave who runs away return and put his hand in his master's hand." {8}

Second: Al-Imam Ath-Thabrani narrated also from Ibn ‘Umar Radhiyallahu anhuma, he said, "The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa salam said:

اِثْنَانِ لاَ تُجَاوِزُ صَلاَتُهُمَا رُؤُوْسَهُمَا: عَبْدٌ آبِقٌ مِنْ مَوَالِيْهِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ إِلَيْهِمْ، وَامْرَأَةٌ عَصَتْ زَوْجَهَا حَتَّى تَرْجِعَ

"There are two people whose prayers never cross their heads: (1) a slave who runs away from his masters so that he returns to them, and (2) a woman who sinned to her husband so that he returned."
{9}

Attention!
There are two important things to consider in connection with this problem:

First, the stipulation of the law is forbidden for wives who reject their husbands 'desires into bed (for jima') required by no syar'i reason, this is as explained by al-Imam an-Nawawi {10} therefore a husband must always pay attention to the situation of the wife when she asks for it. Syaikhul Islam said, "A husband has the right to have fun with his wife at any time, as long as it does not have a negative impact on him or keep him busy from something more compulsory, if there is none, then a wife must fulfill it." {11}

Secondly, in fact the rule of law carried out by the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa salam with the prohibition of the attitude of a wife who rejects the invitation of the husband is an order that helps realize the meaning of a husband and wife relationship, in the hope that a husband can subjugate views, too keeping genitals. {12}
