وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَاحِهَا وَادْعُوهُ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا ۚ إِنَّ رَحْمَتَ اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِين "And cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him in fear and aspiration. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good." [Al-A’râf/7:56] When explaining the meaning of this verse, Abu Bakr ibn 'Ayyasa rahimahullah (d. 194 H) said, "Indeed Allah Azza wa Jalla sent the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam to the inhabitants of the earth when they were in damage, then Allah Azza wa Jalla corrected they sent the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Among the people who are prayed for by ugliness by the Angels are people who are stingy to give alms in the way of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, the arguments that show this have passed, including: Imam al-Bukhari and Imam Muslim have narrated from Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu anhu, he said, "The Prophet sallallaahu‘ alaihi wa salam said: مَا مِنْ يَوْمٍ يُصْبِحُ الْعِبَادُ فِيْهِ إِلاَّ مَلَكَانِ يَنْزِلاَنِ فَيَقُوْلُ أَحَدُهُمَا: اَللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِ مُنْفِقًا خَلَفًا، وَيَقُوْلُ اْلآخَرُ: اَللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِ مُمْسِكًا تَلَفًا ‘Not one day where a servant is at him unless two Angels descend upon him. One of them said, ‘O Allah, give change {1} to those who give charity.' And among the people who were cursed by the Angels is a wife who refused her husband's invitation to jima'. Among the arguments that show this are: First : Ash-Syaikhain narrated from Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu anhu from the Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa salam, he said: إِذَا دَعَا الرَّجُلُ امْرَأَتَهُ إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ فَأَبَتْ أَنْ تَجِيْءَ لَعَنَتْهَا الْمَلاَئِكَةُ حَتَّى تُصْبِحَ "If a husband takes his wife to his bed {1} , but she does not obey him, then the Angels will curse him until morning." {2} Second : Ash-Syaikhani narrated from Abu Hurairah also Radhiyallahu anhu, he said, the Prophet Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa salam said: إِذَا بَاتَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ هَاجِرَةً فِرَاشَ زَوْجِهَا لَعَنَتْهَا الْمَلاَئِكَةُ حَتَّى تُصْبِحَ "If a woman sleeps by leaving her husband's bed, the Angels curse it until morning." {3} And in another history: حَتَّى تَرْجِعَ "So that the wife returns." {4} Al-Imam an-Nawawi rahimahullah in

Among the people who get the curse from the Angels are the infidels who die and remain in the infidel state. The argument for this statement is the word of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala: إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَمَاتُوا وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ أُولَٰئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ ﴿١٦١﴾ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنْظَرُونَ "Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - upon them will be the curse of Allah and of the angels and the people, all together, Abiding eternally therein.
